Welcome to the 21st MicroFest, the annual celebration of the “notes-between-the-notes.” We are proud to present 15 premieres this season, ranging from Baroque masterworks [Marc Sabat’s justly tuned duet versions of two Bach solo violin sonatas], Ben Johnston’s Octet, & the thrilling choreography of Partch’s classic Daphne of the Dunes by Casebolt & Smith, to major new works by local hero Wolfgang von Schweinitz & the high tech electronic wizardry of Daniel Corral’s POLYTOPE. There will be modern classics by Bartok, Lachenmann, Harry Partch & his close friend Ben Johnston, too.
