SCORDATURA

scordatura – noun: the unusual of a stringed musical instrument for some special effect. MicroFest 2010 features performances from Trio Scordatura, the JACK Quartet, Aron Kallay, Grace Zhao, the HMC American Gamelan, PARTCH Ensemble, and many others across the wide Los Angeles landscape. Highlights include the American premiere of Amsterdam’s Trio Scordatura and a performance on a retuned, 12-foot custom Rubenstein piano.
